Chueh-Lung ‘Laura’ Hwang, Ph.D., PT is an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas of Arlington. Dr. Hwang received her B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Physical Therapy from the National Taiwan University. She earned her Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology under the supervision of Dr. Demetra Christou at the University of Florida. During her postdoctoral training at the University of Illinois at Chicago, she worked with Dr. Shane Phillips and Mariann Piano and investigated the molecular mechanisms underlying vascular dysfunction associated with unhealthy diet and alcohol use. In January 2022, she joined the College of Nursing and Health Innovation at The University of Texas Arlington and launched the Cardiovascular Laboratory of Health. Dr. Hwang is a licensed physical therapist and an ACSM-certified exercise physiologist. Outside of the lab, Dr. Hwang enjoys spending time with her family and two cats, hiking, and playing video/board games.
